Cute Valentine's!

For Valentine's this year Jason and I went up to Milt's on Friday night. We wanted to beat theValentine's rush - figured it would probably be really busy on Valentine's. The best part about the whole thing is that it was free. I actually won a $50 gift certificate there and decided to use it to treat Jason to a nice Valentine's dinner.

We had a really noneventful Valentine's. We took the kids to the movie "Coraline." We had to get them out of the house, they fought all day long. I kept reminding them it was Valentine's day and we were supposed to be especially nice to each other on this day. They settled down after the movie and then we kicked a few Valentine's to some friends, but not many cause it was sooo cold. My mom made these really cute little pajama pants for the kids. They are so cute - thanks mom!

Leah's First Haircut!

Today Leah got her first haircut at 7 months old. Aunt Anna cut her hair and she did a great job. She always does. I was a bad mom and forgot my camera for the occassion. These days as long as I remember my kids and my wallet I am doing good!

Ye Olde Piano!

So, this is our new "old" piano. My dad is an avid Tradio listener and that is how we found this beauty. It is actually 110 years old, but it has a great sound to it. One of the keys came undone, but all we need to do is rewire it which shouldn't be too hard we are told. The guy we bought it from used to have an antique store. This piano is not all that great looking but I have plans to sand it and stain it, then paint all the ugly green stuff. I have a vision in my head for it. We figured for $250 it was a good deal, especially since we won't be able to buy a "new" piano for quite some time and I really want the kids to learn to play. It is no match to Sally's beautiful new piano Darren got her for Christmas, but it will do for a while. I will post pictures of it when I have it looking a lot better than it does now.

Happy 5th Birthday Ava!

For the last month Ava wakes up everyday and asks me if it is her birthday. This morning she woke up while Jason was still here and when she was coming down the hall we started singing Happy Birthday to her. She got really mad and said that today was not her birthday. The wait has been long for her, but it is finally here! Happy Birthday Darling Ava! Love you - Mom, Dad, Savannah, and Leah

I must begin working on the ABC's a little harder with Ava. This morning we were doing her hair and she was telling me she knew all the sounds to her ABC's so we started saying a few together.

Me: Mm, Mm Monster. Mm, Mm Money.

Ava: Mm, Mm Girl. Mm, Mm Tasty.

Oh dear! Where have I gone wrong? I couldn't help but laugh. It was too cute.

The new dog - Bandit!

It has been a while since I posted, nothing new or exciting going on except that we got a new puppy . . . his name is BANDIT! Grandpa Jo and Grandma Donna so graciously gave us this puppy. He is cute, but he is a lot of work. I have come to the conclusion that I am a one-dog woman. We already have a dog who is about 9 months old, her name is Chloe. She is a good dog, quiet, and shy. She may not be as cute as the little Yorkie, but she is very well-behaved. I figure we will give it a couple of weeks and see how it goes. If puppy can't learn to go potty outside I'm afraid his stay with us will be short-lived. I must say that he doesn't whine at night anymore. He is probably sick of sleeping in the laundry room and so he hasn't done it for the last 2 nights. Thank goodness.

Savannah with her good friend Leah. This year she was able to take 1 friend to the movie and then to McDonald's for her birthday celebration since I am anti-birthday party this year! I think they both had a great time and they were even a little bit silly.
