Field Day!

The last week of school was lots of fun - the kids at Iron Springs Elementary got to have field day and it was a blast. I love living next to the school. We were able to go and watch Savannah participate in the events that she signed up for. She did really well at the frisbee throw. She and another girl in her class tied for third place.

Savannah did the cross country run and made it in last place :) I guess running isn't her thing. She told me they wouldn't let her be on the relay team because she didn't run fast enough. My favorite event to watch was the tug-of-war. If you look at the picture closely you can see the face Savannah is making. This was right before her team lost. They did best of 3 and her team won the first two! I can't wait to volunteer for field day next year.

Preschool Grad!

I know I said I would post something everyday, but obviously I lied. This is Ava at her preschool graduation. I can't believe she is going to Kindergarten, that makes me a little sad. She loves Mrs. Woolsey and will miss her. She gets to go to summer school though, so she has a few more months with her.

We love you Ava! Don't grow up so fast!

Talent Show and Arts night

A couple of weeks ago they had a talent show at Iron Springs that Savannah signed up for. To my surprise she signed up to sing. She sang "I can sing a rainbow" and I played the piano for her. She was very excited and when we went to rehearsal the day before she got up on the stage with all the confidence in the world. I thought, wow, she is a natural born entertainer. Talent night came and when she saw that there were actually people there watching she did get a little bit nervous and told me "I don't think I want to do this." But I told her since she roped me into playing the piano for her then she had to do it. She did a good job, she didn't sing very loud, probably cuz she was scared, but I am very proud that she did it anyway and I hope she will continue to do things that will increase her talents and share them with other people.

I tried to upload a video on blogger, but it was taking all day and all night (hence the reason I didn't post all weekend), maybe my vid was too long . . . so if you want to watch Savannah at her talent show click on the link and it should take you there.
This is a picture of Savannah in front of her art projects that she did at school.

What's so funny?

I have not been posting much on my blog lately because we have had so much going on, and I have so many things to post (for documentation sake). I am going to try and post one thing a day.

This is a video that is about a month old. It is of Leah laughing. We let her have a cookie and she thought that is was great! I thought it was pretty cute.

She has been such a happy baby and we have really had a fun year with her. I can't believe she will be a year old next month!

Our Zion's Excursion!

Over Easter break we decided to take the kids to Zions since we had never been there before as a family. It was awesome! The weather was so nice, it was just a little overcast but perfect weather for going on a hike. We packed us a picnic lunch and found us a nice little spot next to the river. We rode the bus into the park and decided to do the "Emerald Pools" hike. It was so much fun and the kids could even do it. We weren't really sure how Leah was going to like it, but she loved it. She did not fuss at all. She sat in that little backpack as happy as could be and on our way back she slept the whole way.

I haven't been to Zion for about 10 years! I can't believe all the peeps that were there - we were shocked. Never seen that many people in Zion before.
Awesome Views!

This is Ava at the "lower" pool showing me her dirty hands. Little Ava was a trooper. By the end of the hike we had to climb over a lot of rocks and it was then that she informed me that it was "the worst day of her life." She was pretty pooped when we got home.
This is us about half way through our hike at the "middle" pool.
This is Savannah at the upper pool, her shoes and socks were soaked. I could not keep her out of the water, she was very happy to take them off when we got in the car!

Waterfall at the upper pool - it was beautiful!

Jason and the kids on the bridge

Chilaxin! I even carried Leah some of the way!

On the way home we stopped at this cool wildlife museum that was FREE and the kids really liked it and who can forget the ostrich farm? I don't think my kids had ever seen an ostrich in real life so it was pretty cool. We had a great time . . . I think Ava even secretly had fun. The next day she was drawing pics of her and her daddy in Zion - too sweet! I love making memories like these. Wish we could do it everyday.

Too cute not to post!

It is "Western Week" at Savannah's school this week and so on monday they all were supposed to wear something western. She looked so darn cute and I am willing to bet she was the cutest one there!

EASTER

So this post is a little late, but what the heck! I really should be cleaning my house right now, but have a chance to post before my baby wakes up from her nap.
I was so excited that the kids had a few days off of school. We did some fun things and I had a really hard time being motivated to work with them being home. We colored easter eggs, went to Zion National Park, went to the new Hannah Montana movie (which I loved by the way - I know, I'm a dork. Jason even went with us!) and a couple of fun easter egg hunts with family. All in all I would say it was a good holiday.

Leah with her egg. Does anyone else roll them down the hill after coloring them like we do?

My sister, Jana, and nieces doing some "easter egg rolling" over by Cal-Ranch down the big hill.
The Miner clan before the "annual" easter egg hunt.
Ava at the easter egg hunt. She got this hat from the easter bunny and a matching purse. She LOVES them. She and the hat are inseparable. She wore it to preschool on Monday even.

Savannah always has to do some kind of pose when I take her pic!
